OUR STORY
When high school students in Montgomery County, Maryland, realized their school violated the Americans with Disabilities Act, they took action. Alongside their peers, they prepared testimonial presentations to advocate for the school’s disabled community before the Board of Education. In time, the student advocates secured the funds to successfully rebuild the school’s infrastructure.
These same students then developed the “Help Them Speak” organization in direct response to the nationwide lack of resources, short-reaching alliance network capabilities, and advocacy toolkits to bolster the student advocates’ causes. Today, armed with a new resource library for advocacy, students can hone their advocacy skills, connect with existing grassroots campaigns, or explore options to network and build support for their causes.
See what the student advocacy alliance network can do for you — fuel your passion and be the change you want to see in the world.
